Though his site can be a bit hard to navigate.Ħ) Rogue Survivor is like Cataclysm, though not as deep, but has a class based system, a good ally/follower system, and it has tiles.ħ) IVAN is on the sidebar, but there's something magical and hilarious about dying from being punched in the crotch to death by a zombie.Shortly after I argued for hitpoints as the best way to represent damage because they makes the game shorter, Craig Perko of ProjectPerko has argued strongly against them because they make the game longer. If you ever played diablo, this will be very fun.ģ) Sil is a great roguelike, has some fun stealth mechanics, and a nicely done multi-window interface.Ĥ) ASCII Sector is a space roguelike, I haven't tried it myself yet, but it looks very fun.ĥ) Cataclysm is a zombie survival roguelike, that has quite a bit more depth than Rogue Survivor. Nethack inspired.Ģ) DiabloRL is made by the same people who made DoomRL. If you don't mind some suggestions yourself, here are some roguelikes that don't get that much attention, whether it be that not many people heard of it, or not as popular anymore:ġ) PRIME is an interesting roguelike, more of a parody.
Though I just got to play Legend of Grimrock, so it maybe awhile, but I will definitely try it out. :pĪnyway, I checked out the link, and it looks very interesting. Or arguing about Hack, Slash, Loot if recent events are anything to go by. And even if they play something else way more than the side bar games, not many people join the discussion unless it's about DCSS. Most people here just play the games on the sidebar, occasionally something else.
